Lead Engineer (Java/React)

In the current department of 15 people we have JAVA, React, PHP developers and test engineers. Together with our UI/UX designer, Product owner and CTO you work towards timely and robust releases. Half of the development team is in Krakow, the other half in the Netherlands. We have cyclic changes of sprint teams - per epic we assign people to either the epic team or the quick improvement team so this is definitely NOT Poland versus Netherlands but based on expertise. Once an epic is done, we shuffle again.

Your responsibilities

• You breathe OOP and dream API. In one sprint you focus on developing business logic in SAP (Hybris) and the following sprint you make sure that data is received and processed in the REACT framework.
• You love to work in a multi disciplinary team and contribute to the complete development cycle. This means you participate in refining the stories together with stakeholders, product owner and test engineers, write code within the sprint, do codereviews and assist in (automated) testing. For this, you obviously need a wide range of technical qualities.
• You have experience in leading a team, which means that you are the voice of one team and not only know how to get the opinions but also help in the team members understand certain goals and challenges. Your communication skills and the understanding of developers make you the natural center of the team.
• While we still have a lot of legacy running and an API connected to it, we use SAP CC (also known as Hybris) and the frontend is based on Alokai (React/Tailwind). Furthermore we use ElasticSearch and a headless CMS. We integrate with AI and A/B testing. In short, very composable without reinventing the wheel.
• Winparts has been growing fast and steadily over the past years, 30% on yearly basis. At the moment we are preparing the rollout in Europe to become the number one webshop for carparts, for home consumers. We can make use of the logistical expertise of our parent company AAG and the worldwide network of GPC. This way we envision a 15 times growth in 10 years time. Quite an exciting roadtrip!
