Location: Europe, 100% remote

Responsibilities:

• Lead development of backend services, including major new features and decompositions.

• Architect distributed systems with high scalability, availability, and observability.

• Design and implement messaging pipelines using Kafka.

• Contribute to shared internal tools, libraries, and frameworks.

• Guide the team in applying best practices: clean architecture, advanced testing (contract, integration), CI/CD, and secure code.

• Drive performance, observability (metrics, tracing, logging), and operational excellence.

• Mentor engineers across teams and support their technical growth.

• Collaborate with product managers to shape project direction and roadmap.

• Take ownership of services from design to deployment in cloud environments.

Skills & Requirements:

• Strong experience with Golang in a production environment.

• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.

• Experience with Kafka or similar message brokers.

• Proven track record with observability practices: metrics, tracing, structured logging.

• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure; AWS is a plus).

• Experience with automated testing practices: contract, unit, integration tests.

• Excellent communication of technical decisions and trade-offs.

• Proactive problem-solver and decision-maker.
