Job description

Note: By applying to this position you will have an opportunity to share your preferred working location from the following: Kraków, Poland; Warsaw, Poland.

About the job

Technical writers plan, create, and maintain educational content as an integral part of the engineering or user experience. The content is often in the form of documentation, but may also be UI text, sample code, videos, or other educational material. Regardless of the content medium, technical writers are distinguished by their abilities to explain complex topics in a way that’s useful to their audience.

In this role, you have the opportunity to lead and help create quality, user-focused content for the Networking products of Google Cloud. Working closely with other Technical Writers, Engineers, and PMs, you will author content, advocate for and prioritize users needs, and help define, refine, and execute on plans for the content across products and/or strategic initiatives.

Within these parameters, you can choose how you'd like to solve these problems. There are opportunities to work with UX research, on tooling, or dig deep into the technology. We strongly believe there are multiple paths to success!

Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google’s cutting-edge technology, and tools that help developers build more sustainably. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, organize, and author technical content for Cloud Networking customers, with a focus on use cases and concepts.
  • Manage complex documentation projects and prioritize requests while working closely with partner teams.
  • Demonstrate strong technical writing and leadership through content reviews, including proofreading, editing, coaching, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Communicate effectively, establish work processes and strategies, organize work groups, manage expectations, and report status across teams.
  • Work with the Development, Sales, Marketing teams, partners, and other internal groups.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in technical writing.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Writing, Engineering, or scientific-related field.
  • Experience in a related technical area.
  • Experience creating content for technical audiences (e.g., developer documentation, Computer Science course material, or IT administration playbooks).
  • Experience authoring technical documentation, developer facing content, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), networking protocols, or network architecture.

Benefits:

  • Health and Wellbeing (Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents)
  • Financial wellbeing (Competitive compensation, regular bonus and equity refresh opportunities)
  • Flexibility and time off (Paid time off, including vacation, bereavement, jury duty, sick leave, parental leave, disability, and holidays)
  • Family support and care (Fertility and growing family support, parental leave and baby bonding leave)
  • Community and personal development (Educational reimbursement)
  • Googley extras (Inspiring spaces to work, recharge, and collaborate with fellow Googlers)
