Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

In this team, you will get an important role in an initiative that is critical to the company. It will give you the opportunity to support the roadmap, much like in a startup. You will drive the cross-group efforts, define new industry standards and lead the ecosystem to adopt them, own features across the entire stack. You will also join the journey of a paradigm shift in the ecosystem.

The Platforms and Ecosystems product area encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications). The products provide enterprises, and ultimately end users, the ability to utilize and manage their services at scale. We build innovative and compelling software products—from apps to TVs, from laptops to phones—that have an impact on people’s lives across the world.

Responsibilities

• Create external developer facing APIs and underlying infrastructure.
• Identify, deliver and land critical user journeys.
• Measure and monitor the impact of various features across Business Communication ecosystem.
• Create better user experience by fixing critical bugs/issues raised by external developers (partners).
• Work with Product Managers, UX, Developer Relations, Business Development, Support and Engineering leads to deliver critical product/system metrics to help understand various nuances of the product.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in Java.
• Experience in back-end coding.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Fullstack development.
• Experience in API development and design.
• Ability to drive problem-solving and technical innovation.
