Software Engineer II, Google Kubernetes Engine Upgrades Experience

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Kubernetes or technical infrastructure/platform engineering.
• Experience programming in Go and Java.

In this role, you will be part of an engineering team building new critical capabilities for Google Kubernetes Engine. You will develop a safe, fully trusted, and explainable, best-in-market Upgrades Experience for K8s clusters. You will become an important member of the team, working side-by-side with other experienced engineers and closely collaborating with cross-functional partners. With your teammates, you will share ownership of the whole development life-cycle: designing, coding, monitoring, and maintaining software.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Responsibilities

• Code and build primarily back-end services foundational to Google Kubernetes Engine (Go, Java and other technologies).
• Work side by side with other engineers within the team and beyond; collaborate closely with cross-functional partners (User Experience, Program Management).
• Collaborate on system design, and deliver high-quality code to production.
• Take advantage of robust tooling and have end-to-end ownership over whole development life-cycle including deployment, monitoring and alerting, and maintenance.
