Senior Software Engineer, ChromeOS, Security

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience with back end development using one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Rust, Kotlin, or C++ codebases), and with data structures/algorithms.

• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.

• Experience in developing functionalities for service monitoring, operation tracking, audit mechanisms, and telemetry systems.

• Experience developing operating systems and system software.

• Experience in Android OS.

• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Write and test product or system development code.

• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.

• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

• Build, improve, and maintain ChromeOS's security enhancing features.

• Develop security features of an Android-based stack for the next generation of ChromeOS.
