Engineering Manager, Gemini Code Assist

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience with software development in training, developing or applying machine learning models.
• Experience working in a changing organization.
• Experience with building IDEs or Enterprise Software.

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

In this role, you will manage a team developing Generative AI based development tools, propelling developers productivity. You will also develop server code as well as Middleware code which implement functionalities that interact with Googles latest LLMs.

You will be working with top researchers, engineers, and product managers from both Google Cloud AI and Google Research, developing challenging ML solutions that will contribute to Google's product excellence. You will develop features that integrate next generation LLMs with balanced trade-off between performance and deployment constraints.

• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Help grow and sustain a healthy and collaborative culture for the team.
• Lead a team to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
• Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
