Since our founding in 1998, Google has grown by leaps and bounds. Starting from two computer science students in a university dorm room, we now have thousands of employees and offices around the world. These Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. It starts with how we work together. We’re building a company where people of different views, backgrounds and experiences can do their best work and show up for one another.
The Hardware Operations team is responsible for monitoring the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure behind Google's powerful search technology. As a Data Center Technician, you will be part of a team that installs, configures, tests, troubleshoots, and maintains hardware and networking infrastructure to support the Google production of IT infrastructure. You'll participate in or lead small project teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans. A typical day involves installation of racks and machines daily, as well as troubleshooting faulty infrastructure components.
Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.
