    Job description

    About the job

Be part of a diverse team that pushes boundaries, developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's direct-to-consumer products. You'll contribute to the innovation behind products loved by millions worldwide. Your expertise will shape the next generation of hardware experiences, delivering unparalleled performance, efficiency, and integration.

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a Manufacturing Engineer at Google, you lead complex, multidisciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. You are a valued partner to the new product development, identifying and qualifying advanced manufacturing techniques, and your insight into Design for Manufacturing (DfM) feedback.

    Responsibilities

    • Build and maintain influential relationships with Google's global manufacturing partners, guiding their development and production capabilities in alignment with long-term Google objectives.
    • Design, develop, and advocate the implementation of scalable manufacturing processes and systems for modular data center products. Optimize for cost, quality, and flexibility.
    • Collaborate with design, product management, and operations teams to identify and proactively address potential manufacturing roadblocks in early development phases.
    • Analyze and interpret complex production data to drive informed manufacturing strategies. Identify and implement solutions to optimize performance and efficiency across the supply chain.
    • Use Product Data Management (PDM) systems to create Bills of Materials (BoM), Approved Vendor Lists (AVL), and manage Engineering Change Notifications/Orders (ECN/O). Lead the PLM team to align forecast and BOM structures.

    Minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
    • 5 years of experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer in an industrial environment.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Experience with high voltage equipment and systems (transformers, switchgear, protective relays).
    • Experience with power system analysis and design software (ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower).
    • Experience with LEAN Manufacturing/5S/8D practices.
    • Familiarity with industry standards and codes (IEEE, NEC, NESC).
    • Demonstrated ability to proactively influence the product design process by proposing improvements with associated data.
    • Demonstrated record of overseeing yield improvements and cycle time reductions for high volume and high complexity parts.

    Benefits:

    • Health and Wellbeing (Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents)
    • Financial wellbeing (Competitive compensation, regular bonus and equity refresh opportunities)
    • Flexibility and time off (Paid time off, including vacation, bereavement, jury duty, sick leave, parental leave, disability, and holidays)
    • Family support and care (Fertility and growing family support, parental leave and baby bonding leave)
    • Community and personal development (Educational reimbursement)
    • Googley extras (Inspiring spaces to work, recharge, and collaborate with fellow Googlers)
