We are looking for a Cobol Lead Software Engineer ideally with experience in FinTech / Banking projects. If you are a seasoned engineer with Cobol experience, willing to work with our Japan and CEE-based teams, do not hesitate and contact us to learn more details!

Requirements:

Must have:

• Proven commercial experience in Cobol (preferably in FinTech / Banking)
• Hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2
• Strong analysis, design, and implementation capabilities
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Capability to modify applications and improve the existing business processes
• Great communication skills, English B2 (both written and oral)
• Ability to work both independently and in a team

Nice to have:

• Japanese speaking and writing proficiency would be a big plus

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform source code analysis, extract and document functional flow, code, test, and fix technical issues
• Understand and create Design documents based on requirement analysis
• Work on self-functioning Agile team
• Write high-quality, optimized, error-free code using COBOL programming language
• Revise, update, refactor, and debug code
• Develop COBOL code that reuses subroutines or objects, is well structured, includes sufficient comments, and is easy to maintain
• Create, update, test, and maintain COBOL programs
