Software engineer

Funtico is a leading crypto-gaming company that merges fun with blockchain technology. We are a fast-growing organization, providing gaming experiences to a broad audience through the power of blockchain. We work with modern development tools like Linear, GitHub, Vercel, AWS, and Cloudflare, using automated deployment pipelines to serve high traffic globally. Our team embraces a results-driven, no-nonsense approach, with minimal meetings—just one daily sync, and anything else only as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain scalable front-end applications, collaborating closely with backend engineers.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient PHP code (we use PHP 8.3).
• Work with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Utilize Laravel 10 to build robust, maintainable systems.
• Optimize and enhance performance using caching tools like Redis, Memcached, or Kafka.
• Collaborate with the team to maintain high code quality and implement best practices.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical discussions.
• Collaborate via GitHub, including proficiency in merging, rebasing, and handling complex Git workflows.
• Participate in daily syncs and as-needed meetings, keeping communication streamlined and efficient.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of commercial experience in software development.
• Perfect knowledge of PHP (version 8.3), with significant experience in Laravel (version 10).
• Strong experience working with relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with caching systems such as Redis, Memcache, Kafka, or similar.
• Passionate about clean, maintainable code—you cannot stand bad code!
• Proficiency working with GitHub, including advanced Git concepts like merging and rebasing.
• Comfortable with hybrid work in Warsaw (a mix of remote and on-site).
• Familiarity with Node.js microservices is a big plus, but not a strict requirement.
• Willingness to learn and work with Go for super-fast processing needs.
• Blockchain experience is a huge plus—we create, deploy, and manage our own smart contracts on platforms such as Avalanche, BASE, BNB, Polygon, and more.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Familiarity with non-relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.).
• Experience working with high-traffic applications, scaling systems effectively.
• Knowledge of Cloudflare for web performance optimization and security.
• Previous exposure to crypto, or gaming.
