Knowledge Engineer

The role

We are looking for a Knowledge Engineer who will work at the intersection of semantic technologies and AI. You will be responsible for designing, extending, and integrating ontologies, building semantic layers on top of regulatory data, and connecting them with LLM-driven pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Organize and extend ontologies (RDF/OWL) in line with an existing rule-centric model (e.g., hasTarget, hasRequirement).

• Design and implement data schemas in triplestore, including indexes, rules, and validation (e.g., SHACL).

• Develop and optimize SPARQL 1.1 queries for business views and APIs.

• Integrate the knowledge graph with existing applications (Python, FastAPI).

• Build and maintain ETL processes, including versioning and approval mechanisms.

• Maintain best practices for ontology modeling (IRIs, vocabularies, reuse).

  
  

Requirements

• Commercial experience with AllegroGraph (or a similar triplestore) and SPARQL 1.1.

• Strong knowledge of RDF/OWL and ontology design best practices.

• Experience with Python (preferably FastAPI) and working with Docker and Git.

Nice to have

• Experience with SHACL, rule-based validation, and reasoning.

• Exposure to LLM pipelines and embeddings.

• Experience building ETL pipelines from external sources (e.g., EUR-Lex)..

• Good communication skills – able to explain complex semantic concepts clearly.

• Comfortable working in a bilingual environment (Polish B2+, English B2+).
