SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and collaborative Staff Platform Engineer to drive the technical strategy and evolution of the core platform that underpins all Finalsite products. In this role, you will be a hands-on technical leader, responsible for setting the architectural direction for shared services and tooling. You will establish engineering best practices, mentor senior engineers, and ensure the platform delivers a secure, scalable, and consistent experience across the entire organization and for our clients.

This is a high-impact role requiring deep expertise in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure. You’ll work across Google Cloud–based infrastructure while integrating with AWS where needed, defining the technical blueprint for unifying data across disparate products through microservices and shared APIs. You will also architect and oversee the client-facing platform for product access, configuration, and integrations.

The Staff Platform Engineer will partner across Product, Engineering, and Executive leadership to reduce complexity, improve reliability, and unlock new, large-scale capabilities that align with the company's long-term product vision.

LOCATION

100% Remote - Anywhere within Poland - Our Poland office is located in Krakow ( B2B Contract)

Finalsite is a global company and to enable strong collaboration, we have established common core working hours. Candidates should be comfortable working from 10:00-18:00 CET, with core working hours being 16:00-18:00 CET

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set Technical Strategy: Define the long-term technical roadmap and architecture for core platform services, ensuring alignment with product and business goals.

  • Architect and Drive Initiatives: Lead the design and implementation of cross-cutting, company-wide platform initiatives that significantly improve performance, reliability, and security.

  • Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a force multiplier by mentoring Senior and Mid-level engineers, leading design reviews, and raising the overall technical bar for the Platform organization.

  • Standardization: Establish and evangelize platform engineering standards, best practices, and documentation across all product teams to ensure consistent adoption.

  • Develop microservices and APIs that unify data and workflows across disparate products.

  • Drive continuous improvement in CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and operational excellence in partnership with Infrastructure and SRE teams.

  • Contribute to the strategic evolution of the client-facing web application that enables customers to manage product access, configuration, and integrations.

  • Deeply troubleshoot the most complex, cross-system issues and own them through to final resolution.

  • Continuously evaluate and introduce new technologies and architectural approaches to enhance platform capabilities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on building and operating high-scale backend services and APIs.

  • Demonstrated experience as a technical lead or Staff Engineer driving large, multi-team projects from inception to completion.

  • Deep expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and significant familiarity with AWS.

  • Expertise in containerized environments and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).

  • Mastery of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and modern DevOps practices.

  • Exceptional understanding of distributed systems architecture, data modeling, service-to-service communication, and advanced API design.

  • Expertise in designing and implementing authentication, authorization, and identity integrations for large-scale SaaS platforms.

  • Ability to influence and align engineering teams on a shared technical vision without direct authority.

  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and a pragmatic, architectural approach to building reliable, resilient systems.

  • Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and trade-offs to engineers, product managers, and executive leadership.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience in multi-product SaaS or platform teams is a strong plus.

Benefits:

  • Executive Engagement: Direct interaction and support from senior executives, offering significant opportunities for career visibility and impact.

  • Technological Innovation: Access to the latest technologies with the freedom to explore and propose new, innovative solutions.

  • Professional Growth: A nurturing environment for professional development and growth, focusing on individual talents and ambitions.
