About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Kubernetes Engineer to join a complex, large-scale environment focused on platform orchestration, multi-cluster management, and integration across diverse platforms. The role involves working within a joint SAP-related initiative connecting Kubernetes with non-Kubernetes ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage advanced Kubernetes platforms at the infrastructure and orchestration level

• Build and maintain multi-cluster environments across distributed systems

• Develop backend components, APIs, and system integrations

• Implement orchestration and lifecycle management across multiple platforms

• Integrate Kubernetes with external systems such as Cloud Foundry and other non-Kubernetes platforms

• Ensure reliability and consistency of distributed systems with focus on state synchronization and workflow orchestration

• Contribute to system architecture and platform-level decision making

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes at platform level

• Solid backend engineering and programming skills (APIs, integrations, system logic)

• Experience working with multi-system or multi-cluster environments

• Practical knowledge of orchestration and lifecycle management

• Proven experience in system integration between Kubernetes and other platforms

• Understanding of distributed systems concepts

• Knowledge of state synchronization and workflow orchestration mechanisms

Nice to Have

• Experience with Cloud Foundry

• Familiarity with LSS or Concourse

• Exposure to SAP BTP, Gardener or MCP

• Experience building platform orchestration layers or platform mesh solutions

• Experience in pipeline orchestration beyond standard usage
