Senior Data Warehouse Engineer (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS)

Location: 100% remote work

Tasks

• Provide L2/L3 support for SSIS packages, SSAS cubes and tabular models, and SQL-based data warehouse jobs

• Monitor and resolve batch job failures, data load issues, and cube processing failures

• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring incidents

• Support production deployments, hotfixes, and rollback activities

• Ensure SLA adherence for incidents, service requests, and problem management

• Support business and upstream and downstream teams during data issues and reconciliations

• Implement small enhancements in SSIS including new columns, logic changes, and source additions

• Modify SSAS measures, dimensions, KPIs, and DAX and MDX calculations based on business needs

• Enhance existing data models to support new reports and analysis

• Work on delta loads, performance improvements, and optimisation of ETL and cubes

• Update technical design documents and perform impact analysis for changes

• Maintain SQL Server data warehouse schemas including facts, dimensions, and staging tables

• Optimise SQL queries, indexes, and ETL performance

• Handle data quality checks, reconciliation, and historical data management

• Support incremental loads, archiving strategies, and capacity planning

• Follow AMS processes including incident, problem, change, and release management

• Support code deployments via SSIS Catalog, SQL Agent Jobs, and controlled releases

• Participate in client discussions for issue resolution and minor change request clarifications

• Provide knowledge transfer and support documentation and contribute to knowledge base articles

Requirements

• SQL Server expertise

• Hands-on experience in SSIS and SSAS

• Strong SQL and Data Warehouse knowledge

• Experience in L2 and L3 production support

• Ability to troubleshoot ETL, data load, and cube issues

• Experience with root cause analysis, hotfixes, deployments, and rollback

• Knowledge of DAX and MDX

• Experience with SQL Agent Jobs and SSIS Catalog

• Exposure to incidents, problem management, and change and release management

• Experience in minor enhancements and change requests

• Strong communication skills with business and support teams

• Experience with documentation and knowledge transfer

• Tabular model expertise is a plus

• Experience in performance tuning in SSIS, SSAS, and SQL is a plus

• Data reconciliation and data quality control experience is a plus

• Experience with incremental loads, archiving, and capacity planning is a plus

• AMS or managed services background is a plus

• Reporting and BI support exposure is a plus

• Knowledge base contribution and process improvement mindset is a plus
