Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Migration Architect

Location: 100% remote

Tasks

• Lead discovery workshops with customer architects, infrastructure teams, and leadership stakeholders

• Translate business and technical needs into actionable migration architectures, high‑level and low‑level designs

• Define migration strategies for hybrid cloud, multi‑site, and on‑prem environments

• Create detailed runbooks, playbooks, and technical documentation

• Lead migrations across VMware / Hyper‑V → Azure, Active Directory consolidations (Quest), file/print migrations, SQL Server migrations

• Use Azure migration tooling such as Azure Migrate, CloudEndure, AD Connect, hybrid identity patterns

• Execute network transitions including routing, switching, VLANs, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, SD‑WAN, wireless, firewall migrations (Meraki → Check Point/Fortinet)

• Troubleshoot complex issues across networking, compute, identity, and cloud workloads

• Provide hands‑on support during cutovers, go‑lives, and stabilization periods

• Design and review enterprise network architectures (Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, Palo Alto, Nexus — vendor‑agnostic)

• Build and optimize security controls including MDR/XDR/EDR, SIEM integrations, segmentation, zero trust models

• Work with physical on‑prem equipment such as racks, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers

• Act as senior technical authority across migration programs

• Collaborate with SOC, NOC, cloud, infrastructure, and transformation teams

• Mentor internal engineers and contribute to reusable accelerators and best practices

• Communicate architecture decisions, risks, and business impacts to senior leadership

• Produce high‑quality diagrams, migration plans, test scripts, and validation reports

• Build reusable migration patterns and best‑practice guides for global use

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, networking, security, and/or cloud architecture

• Proven background in large‑scale migrations, cloud adoption, or data center modernization projects

• Strong experience with Azure architecture, governance, networking, identity, and automation

• Experience with hybrid identity and AD Connect

• Hands‑on enterprise networking with routing, switching, VLANs, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, SD‑WAN, wireless, firewall design and migrations

• Experience with any major networking vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Meraki, Nexus

• Strong background in security architecture including MDR, XDR, EDR, SIEM implementations, segmentation, zero‑trust design

• Experience with VMware or Hyper‑V and virtualization architecture

• Familiarity with migration tools such as Quest, Azure Migrate, CloudEndure, ADMT, Robocopy, DFSR

• PowerShell scripting (preferred)

• Strong consulting mindset and ability to engage with senior stakeholders

• Excellent communication and workshop‑leading skills

• Ability to work hands‑on as well as at an architectural level
