We’re looking for a Lead Data Engineer to drive innovation and optimization in the development of data infrastructure and pipelines to ensure the delivery of high quality data management solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Work with teams of data engineers fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence
• Execute the data engineering strategy in partnership with stakeholders
• Define and enable the implementation of the best practices, standards, tools and services for data engineering, ensuring efficient data management
• Enable the implementation of data pipelines, data platforms and tools by providing engineers automation and optimization capabilities to ensure the FAIR create data product process is efficient
• Ensure the delivery of high quality, scalable, and efficient data management solutions
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand and address technical requirements in addition to implementing efficiency improvements
• Provide processes and capabilities to ensure achievement of the data quality and system performance measures
• Work in a high performance team that fosters a culture of professional growth while promoting diversity and inclusion
Requirements:
• A master’s degree in data, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field
• Experience of 8+ years of in the domain of software and data engineering, with relevant 4+ years in Data Pipeline Engineering and Integration
• Demonstrated experience in leading complex data engineering projects is essential
• Strong proficiency in Databricks and a deep understanding of its core functions and tools to optimize data workflows and analytics
• Extensive experience with programming languages such as Python, especially for data manipulation, automation, and model development
• Proficient in SQL for complex query development, performance tuning, and data extraction across varied databases
• Hands on experience with DevOps and CI/CD processes and tools, ensuring smooth and reliable software delivery and code deployments
• Expertise in data modelling, data integration, metadata management, and data governance to establish robust and scalable data architectures
• Strong experience of 4+ years with Cloud Technologies, such as Azure and AWS
• Certifications are a plus
• Familiarity with life sciences regulatory requirements and standards
• Experience in designing scalable data engineering solutions, working closely with business, and leading virtual technical teams
