Lead Cloud & Infrastructure Architect

Overview:
We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Cloud & Infrastructure Architect – a strategic thinker and hands-on expert with a strong foundation in on-premises infrastructure and deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure. As one of the most senior technical roles, you will drive complex transformation programs across infrastructure, networking, identity, security, and cloud environments. Acting as the technical authority for large-scale customer initiatives, you will design modernization roadmaps, lead enterprise architecture workshops, ensure governance, and guide multi-disciplinary engineering teams, while remaining fully capable of detailed implementation and troubleshooting when required. This position demands both the breadth of a principal architect and the depth of a senior engineer, with a strong focus on hybrid and multi-cloud estates. You will influence business outcomes, define next-generation platforms, and set the technical direction for infrastructure modernization.
Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end architectural vision for enterprise transformation projects, including multi-cloud adoption, infrastructure modernization, cyber-hardening, network redesign, and hybrid platform integration
Conduct strategic discovery workshops with CIO, CTO, CISO, and enterprise architecture teams
Translate business objectives into measurable technical strategies, roadmaps, and investment recommendations
Develop large-scale, multi-year transformation plans that align cloud, security, networking, data, and identity
Engage directly in hands-on architecture and engineering for Azure, AWS, and hybrid cloud landing zones
Design and implement identity and directory services (Quest, Entra ID, AD consolidation)
Oversee network architecture and redesign (Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, Palo Alto, Nexus/HyperFlex/HCI)
Define security architecture including MDR/XDR, SIEM/SOAR, CASB, firewalls, zero trust
Modernize infrastructure compute and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, HCI, SRM, DRaaS)
Drive data platform modernization (SQL, Azure SQL, pipelines, storage)
Implement automation and DevOps practices (Terraform, Bicep, CI/CD, PowerShell, API integration)
Solve complex escalations with deep diagnostic and troubleshooting leadership
Author and govern solution designs, high-level architectures, LLDs, migration runbooks, pilot plans, and execution frameworks
Validate designs implemented by engineering teams to ensure alignment with architectural principles
Lead cutover planning, execution oversight, and architectural risk mitigation
Act as the technical face for enterprise customers, presenting architectures and modernization strategies with clarity and executive polish
Build trusted-advisor relationships with C-level leaders and provide thought leadership on cloud, cybersecurity, modernization, automation, and cost optimization
Mentor architects, engineers, and consultants across cloud, security, networking, and infrastructure domains
Develop reusable accelerators, templates, and architectures to scale global delivery models
Partner with sales teams for pre-sales solution architecture, SOW development, and opportunity shaping
Requirements:
12–20+ years of progressive technical experience delivering enterprise-scale transformation programs for MSPs, GSIs, or global integrators
Cloud Platforms: Azure (expert-level), Azure security & governance, AWS (strong asset), hybrid identity architectures, private connectivity, zero trust models
Networking: Cisco Nexus, UCS, Hyperflex, Meraki; FortiGate, Palo Alto, ASA/FTD; SD-WAN, routing, switching, segmentation
Security: XDR/MDR/SIEM/SOAR (Sentinel, Defender, Elastic), cloud security hardening, firewall & network security architecture, compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO, GDPR, PCI)
Infrastructure & Identity: VMware, Hyper-V, SRM, HCI; storage platforms (Dell EMC, NetApp, Unity, Data Domain); SQL Server, Azure SQL, data pipelines; Active Directory, Quest migration tools
Automation & DevOps: Terraform, ARM/Bicep, Azure DevOps/GitHub, scripting (PowerShell, API integration), serverless (Functions/Lambda)
Soft Skills & Leadership: Impeccable communication skills and executive presence, strong presentation and architectural storytelling abilities, ability to guide technical and non-technical stakeholders, confident leadership during high-pressure cutovers, diplomatic consensus building
