DevOps Architect

Location: 100% remote work with business travels (for the initial 3-4 months there will be a need for 2-3 days of travel to Basel every two weeks. Once the project stabilizes, travel will be reduced to once a month)

Overview

We are seeking a seasoned DevOps Architect to lead the end-to-end migration of a large-scale GitLab ecosystem to GitHub. This is a high-impact role requiring deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong coordination skills across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and execute the migration from GitLab to GitHub for a large enterprise environment

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and DevSecOps best practices

• Collaborate with offshore DevOps teams to ensure smooth delivery and execution

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Shell, and YAML

• Manage stakeholder communication and ensure alignment across teams

• Utilize Terraform and container orchestration tools for cloud-native deployments

• Ensure secure and scalable identity and access management integration

  
  

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, including 5+ years in architecture roles

• Proven track record of large-scale GitLab to GitHub migrations

• Expertise in GitHub Actions, CI/CD design patterns, and DevSecOps practices

• Strong scripting skills (Python, Shell, YAML) and Git command proficiency

• Experience with Terraform, container orchestration, and cloud-native deployments

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Experience working with offshore teams, particularly in India

  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Active Directory and enterprise identity/access management

• Prior experience in large-scale repository and CI/CD pipeline migrations

• Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot for CI/CD design acceleration

• Exposure to Roche or similar enterprise environments

• Certifications in GitHub, AWS, Azure, or Kubernetes
