Job Description
As a Database Administrator in the International DBA Team, you will be part of the Oracle Database team responsible for ensuring high performance, availability, and reliability of database environments across the international region. You will work closely with engineering and application teams across multiple geographies, translating business and technical requirements into scalable and efficient database solutions aligned with global standards.
Responsibilities
Perform database and application (SQL) performance tuning to ensure optimal system efficiency
Design, develop, implement, and maintain Oracle database instances
Conduct root cause analysis of production-related database issues and implement corrective actions
Handle daily database maintenance, monitoring, problem resolution, and provide internal customer and development support
Review, design, and develop logical and physical data models in collaboration with application development teams
Test, validate, and implement performance optimization and resource management solutions
Contribute to database standards, best practices, and performance metrics across distributed environments
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
Minimum 3 years of experience as an Oracle DBA on Unix/Linux environments
At least 2 years of hands-on database administration and 1+ year of database development experience
Strong knowledge of Oracle database technologies, tools, and SQL performance tuning
Ability to convert logical data models into physical database designs
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Proven experience working closely with development and engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
Strong problem-solving mindset with fast troubleshooting and resolution skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities
Experience working with high-volume OLTP and terabyte-scale databases
Hands-on experience with Oracle Data Guard replication solutions
Knowledge of Oracle DBA best practices, including schema management, indexing strategies, and optimizer hints
Advanced query optimization and database performance tuning expertise
Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with DBA and application teams
