Middleware Engineer – API Integration (IBM & Microsoft)

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Middleware Engineer with a budding interest in API Platforms build from both IBM API Connect and Microsoft APIM platforms.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop expertise and manage these systems across all environments throughout their lifecycle.
 

What You’ll Do

• Assist in the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of IBM API Connect and Microsoft APIM software on various platforms.

• Collaborate with application teams to design and deploy API objects.

• Provide support for API implementations, including both daylight and overnight support.

• Identify and suggest improvements to Euroclear's API Connect and APIM implementations.

• Learn from and be mentored by experienced peers, sharing knowledge and best practices.

• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and define processes.

• Support squad's Product Owner, Architects, and Application Designers in establishing roadmaps and implementation plans.

• Develop and disseminate best practices and guidelines for API services.

• Participate in watch duty rotation, providing support for production services.
   

What You Bring

Technical Expertise:

• Experience in managing and supporting IBM API Connect and Microsoft APIM or a strong interest in developing these skills.

• Basic knowledge in managing middleware on various platforms being Linux and Azure.

• Familiarity with scripting languages used with automation tools like Ansible/Tower and Terraform

• Awareness of security concerns, networking, availability, and performance matters related to API platforms.

• Exposure to container technologies.

Soft Skills:

• Strong desire to learn and grow expertise.

• Ability to navigate uncertainty and complexity.

• Client-focused mindset with a strong emphasis on quality.

• Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills.

• Experience or willingness to work in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Collaborative mindset and strong analytical skills.

About the Team

Group Technology Services (GTS) plans, builds and runs the global infrastructure of Euroclear, and is additionally responsible for the IT service management to the operating entities of the various Group markets. Group Technology Services operates its IT systems and IT services in such a way that, at an appropriate and benchmarked cost level, it can deliver the agreed levels of service to support the requirements of the business processes, for both normal operations and during disaster recovery.
