About:
You’ll join a highly skilled data engineering team, part of a technology department. This team develops and maintains a cutting-edge platform on Azure using most advanced technologies (e.g. Azure Databricks) to support all core business functions. Your primary goal will be building and maintaining robust, secure data pipelines and helping in defining the data model that deliver trusted datasets to internal and external stakeholders, enabling data-driven decisions across the organisation.
As a Data Engineer, you will maintain, monitor, and enhance the platform that powers our data services. You’ll work on building robust pipelines using Azure Data Lake, C# and Python while collaborating closely with data analysts and software developers.
Reporting to the Head of Technology, you’ll be a part of a collaborative team focused on data governance, engineering, and strategy. This role offers the chance to make a visible impact in a dynamic, fast-evolving field.
Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain a scalable data platform using Python, .NET, and Azure Services.
- Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using technologies available natively on Azure (e.g., Data Factory, Databricks).
- Develop and optimize APIs, data services, and integrations.
- Ensure system reliability, security, and performance.
- Automate infrastructure deployment and management using tools such as Azure DevOps, ARM templates, and Azure CLI.
- Collaborate with engineers and analysts to enable seamless data flows.
- Implement monitoring and observability solutions (Azure Monitor, Application Insights).
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in software development and data engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python, .NET, and Azure services.
- Experience with Azure Data Analytics tools (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Synapse).
- Proficiency in building scalable and secure APIs (REST, gRPC).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Interest in financial data.
