Senior/Lead Network Engineer

We are seeking a Senior/Lead Network Engineer specializing in telecommunications to join our infrastructure services engineering team.

You will collaborate with global engineering teams to design and support scalable communication systems across on-premise, cloud, and carrier environments. This role requires a strong background in voice systems, network transport, and automation with an emphasis on Cisco and Avaya platforms. Your expertise will help ensure the high availability and performance of our communication infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-availability voice and transport infrastructures across hybrid environments

• Manage telecom circuits and liaise with carriers for provisioning and troubleshooting

• Support and optimize Cisco and Avaya voice platforms including call routing and device management

• Automate configuration and monitoring processes through scripting and API integration

• Perform advanced troubleshooting for voice quality, connectivity, and system performance issues

• Maintain comprehensive documentation and deliver training to global teams

• Participate in project management activities for system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including global network engineering and security architecture

• Ensure compliance with service level agreements and industry standards

• Evaluate and recommend improvements to voice and transport network architectures

Requirements

• Extensive experience in network engineering with a focus on telecommunications and transport systems

• Proven leadership experience in managing complex communication infrastructure projects

• In-depth knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 networking technologies including VLANs, VTP, spanning tree, routing, and switching

• Expertise in applying quality of service policies to prioritize voice and video traffic

• Experience with WAN technologies such as MPLS and diverse internet transport methods

• Proficiency in designing and managing telecom circuits including SIP trunks and carrier coordination

• Strong background in Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco TelePresence, and Avaya Communication Manager

• Comprehensive understanding of PBX systems and VOIP protocols including SIP and H.323

• Experience with cloud-based voice platforms like Zoom Phone and Vonage

• Skills in Python and Bash scripting to automate network tasks and workflows

• Familiarity with REST API usage for automation and system integration

• Advanced troubleshooting capabilities for complex network and voice issues

• Project management skills related to communication systems deployments

• Capability to document system architectures and procedures clearly

• Experience working directly with telecom carriers and vendors

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills (B2+)
