Senior Java Engineer (Core Java)

We are seeking a Senior Java Core Engineer to join our team, focusing on the development of advanced trading solutions for a leading global financial institution. In this role, you will be instrumental in building systems that provide principal liquidity, enable post-trade services, and optimize risk management for a wide range of flow products, including FX Spot, FX Derivatives, Rates, Credit, and Equities.

You will contribute to the development and enhancement of front-office trading platforms that support pricing, trade management, and risk control for various financial instruments. These platforms are designed to streamline trading operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver robust market connectivity and efficiency for traders.

This role offers a hybrid model, with 3 days per week working from the client's office in Wrocław or Kraków, Poland.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side Java applications for FX trading

• Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and Level 3 support

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business and technical requirements

• Enhance legacy codebases and apply modern best practices to new projects

• Ensure seamless integration with messaging/middleware technologies and market data sources

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and system architecture

  
  

Requirements

• 3+ years of proven experience in Java server-side development, including expertise in multi-threaded programming

• Strong background in designing and building robust, scalable distributed systems within an enterprise environment

• Solid understanding of messaging/middleware technologies (e.g., Kafka, Tibco EMS), frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot), and reactive programming paradigms

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably Azure), Docker, and DevOps practices

• Basic proficiency in Linux

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Fluent English communication skills (B2 level)

Nice to have

• Experience in the FX trading domain

• Knowledge of financial instruments such as Bonds, IRS, Futures, and Options

• Exposure to front-office trading systems and market connectivity solutions
