Lead SAP ABAP Developer

We are seeking a Lead SAP ABAP Developer to drive innovation, proof of concepts, and governance within our SAP S/4HANA projects.

You will work closely with architects and consultants, focusing on clean code principles and leveraging new SAP technologies. Join us to lead and shape the future of SAP development and deliver high-quality solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Ensure robust ABAP delivery through quality assurance and governance of build standards

• Design and develop proof of concepts (POCs) using ABAP, RAP, CDS views, OData, and Fiori/UI5

• Support Clean Core development practices to minimize modifications and maximize standard SAP extensibility

• Review and approve technical designs, code, and configurations to ensure adherence to enterprise standards and best practices

• Explore and evaluate new SAP technologies such as RAP, CAP, SAP Build, Event-Driven Architecture, and Embedded Analytics for business applicability

• Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization support to implementation teams

• Collaborate with solution architects and functional consultants to bridge innovation and delivery

• Document POC learnings, reference architectures, and reusable components for project teams

• Contribute to automation, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines for SAP development

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of SAP ABAP/S/4HANA development experience with a focus on innovation and prototyping

• Expertise in ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, and performance tuning

• Experience with RAP (Restful ABAP Programming Model) and CAP

• Proficiency in Fiori/UI5 and OData services

• Knowledge of BTP extensibility and cloud integration including Event-Driven Architecture, APIs, and Event Mesh

• Deep understanding of S/4HANA extensibility concepts including in-app, on-stack, and side-by-side

• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, DevOps, and test automation in SAP environments

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to coordinate implementation plans, operational tasks, escalations, and performance improvements

• English language proficiency at B2 (Upper-Intermediate) level

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP Build tools

• Knowledge of SAP event mesh

• Familiarity with Embedded Analytics

• Background in software quality assurance practices

• Understanding of enterprise-grade SAP governance frameworks
