Lead Go Developer
We are looking for a Lead Go Developer to join our client’s CLI team, where you will help shape the core developer experience for our industry-leading AI-native Developer Security Platform.
In this role, you’ll design and evolve the client's CLI, a foundational tool used by millions of developers and security engineers both locally and in CI/CD pipelines. You’ll work at the intersection of developer experience and platform engineering, ensuring the CLI remains intuitive, reliable, and extensible across diverse workflows and environments. Your contributions will directly impact how customers adopt secure development practices at scale, empowering innovation while reducing business risk.
The position requires occasional week-long business trips within Europe.
Responsibilities
Drive technical decisions that shape the long-term evolution of the CLI, balancing immediate product needs with sustainable architecture and maintainability
Partner with product managers and designers to translate complex security capabilities into simple, intuitive developer workflows
Act as a technical multiplier for other engineering teams by enabling them to deliver CLI functionality faster and more consistently
Lead initiatives that improve the reliability and predictability of the CLI across diverse real-world usage patterns
Contribute to a strong engineering culture by raising the bar on code quality, design reviews, and technical documentation
Mentor and support other engineers, sharing context and best practices for building developer-facing platforms
Use data, feedback, and real user workflows to continuously refine and validate CLI behavior and design decisions
Take end-to-end ownership of CLI initiatives, from design and implementation to release and long-term maintenance
Collaborate cross-functionally to align priorities, build consensus, and influence the broader engineering organization
Champion best practices for building developer tooling that is robust, reliable, and integrates seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines
Requirements
Experience building and maintaining developer tooling or CLI utilities that integrate into CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows
5+ years of deep expertise in Go (Golang) with the ability to work effectively in TypeScript or a strong willingness to ramp up quickly
At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
Hands-on experience with one or more CI/CD or build ecosystems such as Bitbucket Pipelines, CircleCI (Orbs), Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Maven, Jenkins, or similar platforms
Ability to design solutions that are robust in constrained, ephemeral, and highly automated environments
Strong systems-thinking skills, with experience reasoning about compatibility, evolution, and long-term maintenance
Experience evolving foundational tools or APIs while minimizing developer friction and managing graceful deprecation cycles
Clear, thoughtful communication skills, especially for documenting both the “how” and the “why” behind architectural decisions and breaking changes
Strong engineering mindset with a sense of full end-to-end ownership
Open-minded, collaborative approach, capable of influencing and elevating the broader engineering team
Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)
Targeting senior engineers or technical leads who bring both deep technical expertise and the ability to shape the organization’s developer tooling strategy
