Java Developer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Java Developer to join our team and contribute to the development, maintenance, and scaling of critical software systems that manage the flow of parts and finished goods across our supply chain.

This role involves technical leadership, direct communication with stakeholders in the PST time zone, and participation in a highly collaborative, agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, track, and report on team deliverables, ensuring quality and timely completion
• Help onboard new team members and facilitate a smooth transition into the team
• Supervise and mentor less experienced developers, offering guidance and expertise
• Act as a technical lead by performing code reviews and providing architectural input
• Ensure the maintenance and performance optimization of critical systems
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define project deliverables
• Implement new functionality and refine existing features to improve services
• Take part in an on-call service, addressing potential system issues as they arise
• Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability
• Create necessary documentation including design documents, test cases, and PRDs

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years of experience integrating and implementing 3rd-party software through full system implementation cycles
• Expertise in Java and familiarity with Java 8 best practices and tools like Guice and Guava
• Solid understanding of cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and applications security
• Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems
• Understanding of unit testing frameworks such as JUnit 4 and Mockito
• Competency in database management using platforms like Spanner or Cloud SQL databases
• Capability to work independently in an agile environment without direct supervision
• Strong self-management and prioritization skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
• Understanding of information management, data modeling, system integration, and agile development methodologies
• Excellent English communication skills, with proven experience in client-facing interactions

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and tools
• Proficiency in Protocol Buffers for data serialization
• Familiarity with the intricacies of supply chain software or logistics applications
