We are looking for an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join our team in developing and automating components of a private and hybrid cloud infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Python development, infrastructure automation, and hands-on experience with tools such as Airflow, Docker/Kubernetes, and VMware or OpenStack.
You will be responsible for automating cloud platform components such as virtual machines, load balancers, and firewalls, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across our environments.
- Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for cloud infrastructure using Python.
- Create and orchestrate workflows for infrastructure tasks using Apache Airflow.
- Automate provisioning and management of VMs, load balancers, and firewalls.
- Work with VMware, OpenStack, or other virtualization platforms to manage private cloud environments.
- Build and maintain containerized solutions using Docker or Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to implement automation in CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor infrastructure performance and proactively implement improvements.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices in cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot automation failures and support production deployments.
- 5+ years of experience in automation engineering or cloud infrastructure roles.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with scripting for infrastructure tasks.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
- Deep understanding of VMware and/or OpenStack platforms.
- Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals (load balancers, firewalls, IP routing).
- Experience managing virtual machines, storage, and compute resources in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (public or private) and hybrid IT environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and Git-based version control systems.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other IaC tools.
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring and observability platforms.
- Certification in VMware, OpenStack, or cloud technologies.
- Experience with security hardening and compliance in cloud infrastructure.
