VMware Technical Consultant
Summary
This role involves delivering high-quality technical services as a VMware Professional Services Consultant. The primary goal is to assist enterprise customers in designing, implementing, and optimizing VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)-based software-defined datacenter solutions, ensuring smooth adoption of VMware technologies and alignment with business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Deploy and configure VMware Cloud Foundation 9 components, such as SDDC Manager, vSphere, vSAN, NSX-T.
Conduct VCF lifecycle operations including bring-up, LCM upgrades, host commissioning, domain creation, and system validation.
Facilitate technical workshops and solution design discussions.
Translate customer use-cases into solution configurations according to VMware best practices.
Provide deployment guidance, configuration reviews, and performance optimization recommendations.
Create technical documentation such as HLDs, LLDs, and runbooks.
Troubleshoot complex issues across compute, storage, and networking layers.
Collaborate with architects, project managers, and engineering teams throughout project execution.
Support operational handover with training and post-deployment validation.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
5-7 years of hands-on experience with VMware virtualization and cloud technologies.
Strong expertise with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 5/9), vSphere 7/8/9, vSAN architecture & troubleshooting, and NSX-T Data Center.
Nice to Have:
Certifications: VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, Broadcom/VMware certifications for VCF-9 Architect and VCF-9 Architect Administrator.
