About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a strong DevOps background to join a growing team within the Traded Risk IT space in banking. This is a hands-on technical role focused on system reliability, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipeline development, and support for critical Java- and Apache-based systems.
You’ll work closely with engineering and business teams to ensure system stability, scalability, and high availability in a fast-paced, production-grade environment.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor system health and respond to incidents to ensure uptime and reliability
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins + Groovy)
Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration using Ansible
Troubleshoot and support Java applications and Apache Spark
Analyse system performance and implement capacity planning strategies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement reliability requirements
Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices (Terraform, Helm)
Contribute to ongoing improvements in observability and performance
Must-Have Skills
5+ years in a DevOps or SRE role
Strong experience with Java and Apache Spark environments
Hands-on with CI/CD using Jenkins and Groovy
Ansible for config management and automation
Linux systems administration and performance tuning
Scripting in Python and Bash
Cloud experience (GCP preferred, others considered)
Containerization knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes nice to have)
Familiarity with basic networking protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP)
Monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki
Experience across the full software development lifecycle
Nice to Have
Background in Banking / Financial Services
Experience in Traded Risk or Financial Risk Management
Knowledge of ETL/OLAP tools and techniques
