Senior SQL Server Migration Specialist

Other Details:

• Location: Poland - Warsaw, with possible remote work (2 days per week in the office required).

• Team Structure: Requires collaboration with multiple international teams.

• Rate: up to 175 PLN/H netto + VAT/B2B

Summary: This role focuses on leading the migration of 500 MS SQL Server instances from native backup solutions to Dell PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM), ensuring minimal downtime and effective project execution.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of Microsoft SQL Server instances to Dell PowerProtect Data Manager.

• Perform SQL Server backup and restore operations.

• Manage SQL Server Always On Availability Groups and Failover Cluster instances.

• Utilize SQL Server Management Studio and T-SQL scripting.

• Conduct database consistency checks and handle corruption recovery.

• Plan and track migration projects with detailed reporting.

• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate effectively in international teams.

• Communicate project progress and challenges with stakeholders.

• Adhere to change management processes.

Key Requirements:

• Experience with MS SQL Server versions 2017, 2019, and 2022.

• Understanding of SQL Server backup and restore operations.

• Proficiency in using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and T-SQL scripting.

• Ability to perform large-scale migrations (1000+ databases).

• Experience with high-availability systems.

• Strong project planning and execution skills.

• Ability to perform risk assessments and prepare for changes.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with Dell PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM).

• Understanding of Active Directory integration.

• Experience in VMware vSphere environments.

• Experience with business impact analysis.

• Knowledge of backup validation and restore testing.
