Senior SQL Server Administrator

You will join to a Database Team of 5 Senior Consultants, based in Oslo. The competencies you will find on board include Oracle and SQL Databases, Azure SQL, Powershell, Always on and cluster technologies.

 📌 TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage, optimize, and scale customer databases hosted both on-premises and in Microsoft Azure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents.
• Participate in project-related tasks, such as onboarding new customer databases.
• Maintaining clear and up-to-date records of database systems.
• Creating and optimizing database structures.

📌 SKILLS:

• At least 5 years of exp. with SQL Server administration.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server, performance tuning, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. 
• Experience with database design, development, and implementation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good English verbal and written communication skills.

📌 Nice to have:

• Certifications in SQL Server administration.
• Experience with Always on and cluster technologies.
• Experience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g. Azure SQL Database).
• Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.
• Knowledge and experience with backup systems.
• Basic understanding of compute virtualization technologies.
