Senior Platform Engineer

Summary: The role of the Senior Platform Engineer focuses on designing, building, and operating secure and scalable cloud platforms using Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
The objective is to enhance platform automation, improve operational excellence, and facilitate a seamless developer experience while ensuring compliance and security.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable platform services and cloud infrastructure in GCP.

• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

• Develop and maintain platform services and APIs using Python and FastAPI.

• Manage and optimize PostgreSQL environments and platform integrations.

• Ensure high availability, observability, reliability, and security of platform services.

• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to improve developer experience and platform adoption.

• Implement and maintain cloud governance, access controls, and security best practices.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve platform and infrastructure issues.

• Drive automation initiatives to reduce operational overhead and improve service quality.

• Support networking, connectivity, and identity management across cloud environments.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or similar role.

• Strong experience with Python development.

• Hands-on experience with FastAPI or similar backend frameworks.

• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and integrations.

• Extensive experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Solid experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

• Strong understanding of DevOps, SRE, and platform engineering principles.

• Experience designing secure, scalable, and maintainable cloud architectures.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have:

• Kubernetes (highly valued).

• Experience operating applications and platforms on Kubernetes.

• Metadata and data governance platforms such as OpenMetadata.

• GCP Networking: Load Balancers, DNS, TLS/SSL Certificates, Identity-Aware Proxy (IAP).

• Cloud security and networking fundamentals.

• Observability and monitoring tooling.
