Senior Level Designer to gaming client
We are looking for a Senior Level Designer to our gaming client.
Start: ASAP
Length: 30th of November with possible extension
Location: Stocholm/hybrid (must be on-site 2-3 days per week)
About the Role
As a Senior Level Designer you will be responsible for creating levels for a newly announced game, in collaboration with others, to create a high-quality hand-crafted experience for our players. You will help define how to best create levels that are enticing for the players, together with a team of level designers spread across internal and external teams. You will also collaborate closely with other designers, creative stakeholders, artists and engineers, in a highly iterative process, to ensure our levels are well-balanced, fun and rewarding. You will be a core part of the game development process for one of the biggest game franchises in the world – from ideation and design to implementing and polishing.
Responsibilities
Create high quality and engaging levels at scale
Define assets, gameplay, mechanics, systems and tools needed to create immersive levels
Work closely with other designers to support short/long term gameplay loops including combat, mob spawning/distribution and player progression in the levels we create
Support fellow level designers in their work
Collaborate with your team and project on creating the best experience for our players
Communicate rationales, design choices and feedback, within the team and project
Document your work, making sure it stays up-to-date and is shared within the project
Qualifications
Substantial Level Design experience having shipped at least 1 title with exposure to a full project life cycle with all its different stages
Experience with game development and working in Unreal Engine (5) (or Unity or the like)
Strong knowledge of how level design and generalized game design interact
The desire to be part of a creative and highly collaborative team and ability to work with feedback and direction
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written form (in English), to support your vision
Ability to work together with other designers, engineers and other stakeholders
Experience with, and an understanding of what makes our game what it is considered a plus
