Role: Senior Kotlin Engineer (with Python)

Location: 100% remote

Rate: up to 160 pln/h net+vat (B2B)

Type of contract: B2B, long-term

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Kotlin Engineer to join a technology-driven insurance organization specializing in specialty and property insurance. This role involves utilizing strong Kotlin experience to enhance client initiatives in building scalable data extraction and AI-driven workflows within cloud-native environments. The ideal candidate shall possess a firm grasp of software engineering principles and cloud infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop reliable, scalable software powering business-critical applications.

• Design, implement, test, document, and maintain APIs and system integrations.

• Deliver new features within core Kotlin-based services, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

• Maintain high quality standards through automated testing, pair programming, and thorough code reviews.

• Partner with Product to understand user needs and translate them into solid technical solutions.

• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including design and architectural analysis.

Key Requirements

• Strong commercial experience building production systems in Kotlin and Python.

• Strong software engineering principles (SOLID, DRY, ER modelling).

• Comfortable working with GCP cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code.

• Familiar with standard logging and monitoring tools used to investigate issues.

• Experience with continuous integration or ideally, continuous delivery.

• Strong familiarity with build tools (e.g. Maven) and version control tools (e.g. Git/Github).

• Experience working in agile teams, participating in regular ceremonies.

• Experience using project management and workflow tools (e.g. Jira).

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production-like setups.

Nice to Have (not mandatory):

• Previous experience in financial markets, Fintech or Insurtech preferable.
