Summary: The Senior Hardware Mechanical Engineer plays a critical role in designing automotive electronic hardware, focusing on compute units within the automotive sector. This position aims to ensure effective mechanical designs that meet internal and customer requirements while preventing technical issues related to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electrostatic discharge (ESD).
Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret internal and customer requirements using tools such as Polarion and DOORS.
Lead the mechanical design of compute products, coordinating closely with CAD designers and other engineering disciplines.
Manage dimensional accuracy to ensure proper assembly and performance, including conducting tolerance stack-up calculations.
Participate in Bill of Materials (BOM) creation to support project development.
Key Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the Automotive Industry, particularly in automotive electronic hardware design.
5 years of experience with manufacturing technologies like sheet metal, die casting, and plastics design.
Solid knowledge of design requirements to prevent EMC and ESD issues.
Practical understanding of heat dissipation in electronic units and experience with thermal systems.
Hands-on experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Strong command of written and spoken English.
Excellent collaboration and team-oriented skills.
Nice to Have:
Experience with tools such as DFMEA.
Knowledge of alternative cooling technologies.
