Summary
The main purpose of this role is to build and operate robust data pipelines and manage production workloads in AWS environments.
This encompasses designing, implementing, and maintaining systems that efficiently handle data processing and operational operations.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement data pipelines for data processing and ETL workloads.
Collaborate with engineers and analysts on data models and ingestion patterns.
Operate and scale production workloads securely within AWS.
Handle incident responses and perform root cause analyses in production environments.
Ensure operational excellence through automation and monitoring of workloads.
Key Requirements:
Strong SQL skills with a solid understanding of relational databases (preferably Microsoft SQL Server).
Proficient in Python for data processing.
Hands-on experience with Amazon Athena and Glue.
Familiarity with Apache Iceberg.
Comprehensive AWS knowledge, including networking and IAM.
Nice to Have:
Experience in building streaming data pipelines (ideally with Apache Flink).
Knowledge of managing Kafka for event-driven architectures.
Familiarity with non-relational and column-oriented data stores.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform).
