Due to continued growth, we are hiring a Senior Database Systems Administrator to join our client in Dublin. Our consultancy specializes in providing business and technology services to clients in all sectors.

You will support our overall Power Platform, and scale out the functionality on the

CRM platform to many other services across the company.

A snapshot of your key responsibilities:

·       Support and customise data architecture associated with existing legacy solutions and websites (Access, SQL Server, DBASE, Oracle, MySQL etc.). Develop new database-centric functionality on existing products (Access, SQL, SSRS, etc.).

·       Responsible for designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability and establishing best practices. Responsible for the performance, integrity and security of a re-architecture and refactoring of legacy systems.

·       Reverse engineer and document existing legacy systems to gain an understanding of data stores, data flows and data architecture.

·       Assist in the migration of legacy databases and solutions to the cloud (Dataverse, Azure SQL Server, AWS etc.).

·       Gain an understanding of the various (legacy and third party) data sources and their underlying data and technologies.

·       Design schemes, tables, and servers and set permissions for users to access them.

·       Contribute to discussions concerning the website database architecture if/when they arise. Note: Most websites are built using MySQL.

·       Create technical and architectural documentation and create technical instructions throughout programme development.

·       Ensure data remains consistent across the database, is clearly defined, users access data concurrently, in a form that suits their needs and that there is provision for data security and recovery control (all data is retrievable in an emergency).

Requirements:

·       7+ years of extensive professional experience as a Database Systems Admin.

·       Must hold a professional certification in SQL Server.

·       Extensive experience supporting databases on multiple platforms (Access, Dbase, SQL Server 2000/2008/../2019, Oracle, etc.) and has experience customising legacy Microsoft Access solutions.

·       Experience re-engineering and migrating legacy on premise solutions (Access, SQL 2000/2008, etc.) to the cloud.

·       Experience modelling data and relationships between data using relevant tools.

·       Experience in leading and developing robust database architecture.

·       Full development lifecycle experience, from concept and design to testing using best practices and experience preparing technical/architectural documentation.

·       Experience in reverse engineering and documenting legacy systems.

·       Extensive experience working in a similar technical environment with Business Analysts, CRM Developers, Web Developers, Project Managers, etc., leading on the database administrator function and coordinating contributions of other specialists to complete a joint project.

·       Experience working with Public Sector Bodies and central government Departments and engaging across many different business unit

Opportunity type: 12-month contract, Hybrid in Dublin 1
