Summary:
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining reliable, scalable data foundations that power global reporting and analytics. This role ensures that people data is extracted, processed, and validated using Python and SQL, modelled into analytics-ready structures (e.g., star schemas / semantic layers), and delivered through high-quality Power BI dashboards that are continuously maintained and improved.
The Data Engineer works closely with People, Culture & HR stakeholders and IT/data platform teams (e.g., Snowflake) to ensure trusted KPI definitions, strong governance, and secure access—enabling consistent, data-driven decisions across the organisation.
Main Responsibilities
Process, clean, join, and transform people data using Python and SQL.
Automate data refresh and preparation steps to reduce manual work.
Design and maintain analytics-ready data models supporting consistent KPI definitions.
Collaborate with cloud data warehouses and platform teams.
Develop and publish Power BI reports for global stakeholders.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, security, and appropriate access handling of people data.
Translate reporting needs into technical requirements.
Key Requirements
Fluency in English.
Strong hands-on experience in Python for data processing/automation and SQL for extraction/transformation.
Experience developing and maintaining Power BI solutions (data modelling, DAX, Power Query).
Understanding of databases and data modelling; experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake).
Experience working with HR/people/sensitive data and HR systems is a strong advantage.
Nice to Have
Experience in automation of data workflows.
Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Work estimated for a 20-hour workweek, in fixed morning hours (8-12 CET) or afternoon hours (13-17 CET).
