Summary

The Backend Developer role focuses on developing, maintaining, and supporting various systems that enhance customer interaction with a bank's wholesale services. It plays a crucial role in delivering global solutions to a variety of wholesale customers.

Responsibilities

• Participating in all aspects of software delivery in collaboration with team members.
• Implementing and coding assigned modules/tasks while providing technical solutions and designs.
• Supporting issue resolution with a focus on maintenance and production best practices.
• Liaising with product owners and SMEs to translate business requirements into development sprints.
• Working closely with the architecture team to deliver solutions aligned with business needs and timelines.
• Coordinating with diverse stakeholders from different locations to ensure focused delivery.
• Using tools like Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, and Nexus for artifact management and code release.
• Following Agile & DevOps methodologies and making use of tools like Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.

Key Requirements

• min. 5 years of experience as a Java Developer (strong Java 8+ knowledge)
• Ability to debug existing code, extend functionality, and address issues.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and proficiency in writing REST APIs.
• Capability to write tests for functionality and endpoints.
• Prior hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling.
• Commitment to implementing security around functionalities, services, and endpoints.
• Experience in platform improvement initiatives like performance and stability enhancements.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of database schema design, ideally with PostgreSQL skills.
• Aware of working in DevOps POD and providing production support as needed.
