The role of Scrum Master is vital in supporting the delivery of complex, data-centric initiatives within a Centre of Excellence. This position emphasizes agile delivery, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration across technology and business domains to achieve the organization's goals.
- Facilitate agile delivery across one or more squads focused on data platforms, data products, or governance initiatives.
- Champion agile best practices, ensuring adherence to delivery frameworks and ways of working agreed within the Centre of Excellence.
- Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
- Drive visibility of team progress using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Clarity.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Architects, and Engineering teams to ensure delivery remains aligned with business objectives.
- Help identify and remove impediments, escalating where necessary while fostering team self-organisation.
- Support the implementation of governance practices including risk/issue tracking, milestone reporting, and RAID management.
- Coordinate with programme managers and other Scrum Masters to ensure cross-team dependencies are identified and managed.
- Ensure traceability of business requirements through to delivery, working closely with stakeholders on data accuracy, reuse, and compliance.
- Promote strong documentation, agile reporting, and audit-readiness where required.
- Use Excel and dashboard tools to support tracking, metrics, and reporting.
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead in a financial services, highly regulated environment.
- Experience in the banking sector.
- Experience supporting delivery in data-driven or architecture-aligned programmes.
- Strong understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and the ability to apply them pragmatically.
- Comfortable operating in matrixed organisations and aligning multiple stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience engaging both tech and non-tech stakeholders.
- Proficient with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Clarity, and Excel.
- Proficient in English.
- Experience supporting cross-functional teams spanning data engineering, analytics, and business units.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe, or other Agile certifications.
- Familiarity with business architecture tools (e.g. ARIS) or working with architecture-led delivery.
- Understanding of data governance, metadata, and regulatory data reporting.
- Previous exposure to Centre of Excellence environments or agile scaling models.
