Principal AI Backend Architect for AI platform

Job Summary:

This role is for the energetic, self-driven builder who thrives in a greenfield environment and is energized by the challenge of scaling a product from its first line of code to a globally distributed service. You will not be modernizing a legacy codebase; you will be making the foundational decisions that will define our technology for the next decade. Working within our core architecture team, you will have immense autonomy to design, prototype, and blueprint the core of a secure, multi-tenant, and extensible AI engine.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greenfield Architectural Design: Seize the opportunity to design a new, multi-tenant AI platform from scratch. You will drive critical decisions on its core structure, data models, and service boundaries without the constraints of legacy systems.

• Rapid Prototyping & Iteration: Embrace ambiguity by quickly building proofs-of-concept for new technologies and architectural patterns. Your work will provide the tangible data needed for the team to make fast, intelligent decisions.

• Assist Blueprinting Core AI Systems: Architect and design the blueprints for our most critical AI functionalities. This includes sophisticated Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines (LangChain, LlamaIndex), high-performance data workflows (Polars, Dask), and scalable inference services (FastAPI, vLLM, Triton).

• Design for Scale & Extensibility: Lay the architectural foundation for a modular, "pluggable" system that can grow to serve thousands of clients. Your designs will enable our platform to be both a powerful internal tool and a robust commercial product.

• Not motivated by leadership or bureaucracy: But motiaved by doing actual code and delivering results

Required Qualifications:

• A deep-seated drive and a history of self-directed projects; you are a builder at heart.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, with 10+ years of software engineering experience.

• Proven experience architecting and building large-scale backend systems from the early stages.

• Expert-level proficiency in Python and its data ecosystem.

• Deep architectural experience with the AI/ML lifecycle in a production cloud environment (Google Vertex AI, Azure ML).

Preferred Qualifications (The Ideal Candidate):

• A portfolio of personal projects, open-source contributions, or technical blogs that demonstrate your passion for building and exploring new technology.
