Power BI Specialist with SAP BW experience

Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Consultant with strong competencies in Power BI and SAP BW to join our Client’s Business Intelligence team. You will be pivotal in transforming complex data into actionable insights that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this role, you will closely collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and BI developers to design, develop, and maintain high-quality Power BI solutions sourcing data from SAP BW and other enterprise systems.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports based on SAP BW data models.

• Act as the link between business users and technical teams to translate business requirements into data models and visualizations.

• Optimize data extraction and transformation processes from SAP BW to ensure efficient performance in Power BI.

• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and governance standards are met.

• Provide expert guidance on best practices in data visualization, user experience, and performance optimization.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on BI-related projects and strategic initiatives.

• Support training and mentoring of junior BI developers and analysts.

  
  

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with Power BI, with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade reporting solutions.

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP BW (BW/4HANA is a plus).

• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL processes.

• Experience integrating Power BI with SAP BW using BEx queries, CDS views, or OData services.

• Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and Power BI Service (publishing, security, workspaces).

• Excellent communication skills in English.

• Familiarity with other Microsoft BI stack tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, SQL Server).

• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments, preferably within transportation or the public sector.

• Ability to work independently and proactively while collaborating in a team setting.

• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for turning data into insights.
