Role Description
We are looking for a Mid Power BI Specialist to support a client in the process of migrating data from Excel files to the Power BI environment. The person in this role will be responsible for preparing and adapting the data layer for reporting purposes and for building the initial set of standard Power BI reports. This is a time-consuming, setup-focused role, with no requirement to build complex dashboards.
Responsibilities
Extracting data from existing data sources (Excel, SQL)
Adapting and adjusting existing SQL queries to the new data setup
Preparing data outputs required for migration and further visualization in Power BI
Supporting the transition of data from the old to the new data model
Laying the groundwork for building standard Power BI reports
Creating the initial set of reports (without advanced logic or complex dashboards)
Requirements (Must have)
Mid-level experience in Power BI development
Solid knowledge of SQL (working with existing queries and modifying them)
Experience in data extraction
Ability to prepare data for reporting and visualization purposes
