PostgreSQL DBA

Summary:

The primary objective of this role is to manage and automate engineering activities within PostgreSQL technology, ensuring the smooth operation of production databases.

PROJECT INFORMATION:

Industry: Banking

Location: Hybrid, you need to be able to attend the office (Łódź) 2/5 per week.

Project language: English, Polish is also a must

Remuneration: up to approximately 170 PLN/h net + VAT

Type of assignment: B2B

Project length: Long-term

Main Responsibilities:

• Conduct engineering and automation activities for PostgreSQL technology.
• Manage large-scale PostgreSQL environments including replication, clustering, and partitioning.
• Optimize SQL queries and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Implement and maintain DevOps tooling solutions.
• Monitor database performance using tools such as Grafana or pgAdmin.
• Document processes and communicate effectively with team members.

Key Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
• Hands-on operational expertise in managing production databases.
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL architecture and extensions.
• Strong proficiency in SQL query optimization and debugging.
• Experience working with Linux environments and shell scripting.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with DevOps tools (AAP, VRA/VRO, Terraform).
• PostgreSQL certifications (e.g., PostgreSQL CE).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.
• Experience working in a scaled agile framework.
