Summary: This role focuses on supporting the migration, operation, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases on Google Cloud, with the aim of delivering reliable and compliant database services for traditional and cloud-native workloads.

Main Responsibilities:

• Migrate PostgreSQL databases from on-premises platforms to Google Cloud.

• Support PostgreSQL running on VM-based and/or managed cloud services.

• Perform database upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and optimization.

• Support onboarding of applications to PostgreSQL platforms.

• Troubleshoot incidents and support change and release activities.

• Collaborate with cloud, security, and application stakeholders.

• Maintain documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.

Key Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA / Database Engineer.

• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, performance, and configuration.

• Experience with PostgreSQL on cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud.

• Hands-on experience with database migrations (on-prem → cloud).

• Understanding of replication, backup, recovery, and HA concepts.

• Experience working in enterprise/regulatory environments.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with PostgreSQL managed services and Google Cloud infrastructure.

• Automation and scripting experience.

• Familiarity with cloud security and compliance requirements.
