Portugal IT Director

Introduction & Summary

We are looking for an IT Director in Portugal to lead our digital transformation initiatives. The role requires extensive experience in managing business applications aimed at driving efficiency, growth, and service quality. Ideal candidates will possess a strong technical background combined with excellent leadership and problem-solving skills to navigate challenges associated with both legacy systems and new technologies.

Main Responsibilities

• Document and assess current application maps and data flows.

• Promote tool adoption and measure business benefits.

• Create and maintain engagement with key users for application support and training.

• Manage relationships with software providers for optimized support.

• Lead the transition from legacy applications to modern solutions.

• Conduct audits to enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

• Champion local BI initiatives for enhanced decision-making.

• Oversee Helpdesk operations and IT administration.

• Control IT budget and identify optimization opportunities.

• Ensure compliance with security policies and practices.

Key Requirements

• Master's degree in Business Administration or relevant field.

• Specialization in computer science, IT, data analytics, or related discipline.

• 8-10 years of experience in a multinational or consulting firm.

• Proficient in managing business applications and stakeholder engagement.

• Strong project management and business analysis capabilities.

• Full proficiency in Portuguese and English; French or Spanish is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience in media, advertising, OOH or B2B environments.

• Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, Agile, or Prince.

Other Details

This is a permanent contract position based in Lisbon, allowing one day of home-office per week, and overseeing a small team of three people.
