Industry: Banking
Hybrid way of work from Krakow’s office - 1x per month
This project is centered on the concept of scored lending, which is primarily driven by regulations. The primary objective is to comply with PRA requirements, ensuring that all operational processes meet the necessary supervisory expectations and regulatory standards. In addition to meeting these compliance requirements, this initiative aims to deliver considerable business benefits by enhancing operational efficiency, improving customer experience, and increasing profitability.
Currently, the PRA has voiced concerns regarding the existing lending journey, highlighting two main issues:
The process is not fully industrialized, leading to inconsistencies in end-to-end operations, frequent manual interventions, and limited scalability.
The lending journey tends to lack clarity and transparency, resulting in confusion for both internal stakeholders and customers regarding decision-making steps and their underlying rationale.
This initiative is strategic, focusing on high-value lending, particularly for transactions of £750,000 and above, which are vital for revenue generation and effective risk management. The project’s goal is to establish a robust, standardized, and transparent lending process that meets regulatory requirements while delivering tangible business benefits, such as faster turnaround times, reduced operational risks, and improved customer confidence.
We are seeking Data Engineers with strong expertise in data engineering for the banking or financial services sectors, including:
Demonstrable experience with BigQuery, Python, and cloud-based ETL pipelines (preferably GCP).
Proficient SQL skills, including abilities in complex joins, aggregations, and performance optimization.
Understanding of data governance, quality, and lineage standards.
Experience in working within regulated environments where auditability and transparency are imperative.
This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a significant project in the financial sector with a focus on regulatory compliance and business efficiency improvements.
