Main Responsibilities:
As a Database SME, you’ll be supporting the Platform Owner, setting the strategic direction for the Database ecosystem as well as planning and executing on our roadmap. You will join the Database Engineering team and collaborate with the Infrastructure Specialist, Network Specialist, Operation Specialist and Developers to optimize operation stability and platform performance. Act as 3rd level support in all matters related to databases and interfaces with external vendors in case of incidents and escalations. Can take part in 24x7 on-call.
- Mature automated database services, CI/CD tools, and Infrastructure as code.
- Collaborate with architecture teams to develop future standards reflecting business needs.
- Assess business requirements to deliver effective solutions.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to minimize incident recurrence.
- Analyze and optimize database performance for enhanced infrastructure utilization.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members.
- Work cohesively with other teams to ensure timely project deliveries.
- Participate actively in Task Forces and Focus Groups aimed at improving stability.
- Engage in project activities as required.
Key requirements:
- Proven experience with MS SQL Databases and Azure database services.
- Positive mindset with a can-do attitude.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Senior-level knowledge of MS SQL and Windows Server administration.
- Experience with SQL databases on Azure.
- Proficient in MS Power BI server maintenance and report creation.
- Basic understanding of Active Directory.
- Familiarity with ITIL and Scaled Agile Framework.
- Shell scripting and Ansible Tower experience is a plus.
- Nice to have:
- Experience with database automation tools.
- Knowledge of database performance optimization techniques.
