MS SQL Backup Solution Implementation Specialist

PROJECT INFORMATION:

• Location: hybrid work (1 day a week from the office in Gdansk or Gdynia)
• Remuneration: up to about 150 PLN/H net + VAT
• Start: ASAP (to be agreed)
• Project duration: long term

We are looking for a person who will be responsible for planning, implementing and configuring a backup solution for MS SQL servers in the organization. The backup solution is based on PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM). The purpose of the position is to ensure backup availability, high performance, integrity and compliance with organizational policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implementation:

- Design and configure backups for SQL server. Including setting up backup schedules, retention policies, and disaster recovery strategies.

- Perform initial and ongoing tests of the backup solution to ensure reliability.

• Coordination:

- Collaborate with database administrators (DBAs) to understand SQL server environments and backup requirements.

- Work with IT and infrastructure teams for integration into the broader IT ecosystem.

• Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

- Integrate with monitoring and issue tracking services. Prepare metrices and issues handling automation.

- Monitor backup operations for failures or performance issues. Make sure monitoring reports aid in investigation and resolution activities.

• Documentation and Training:

- Document configurations, workflows, and backup policies.

- Provide training to IT staff on using PPDM effectively.

• Compliance and Optimization:

- Ensure the backup solution complies with regulatory and organizational standards.

- Optimize backup configurations for performance and resource utilization.

REQUIREMENTS:.

• Experience in designing and configuring backups for SQL Server.
• Ability to collaborate effectively.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools and ability to troubleshoot backup issues.
• Ability to document backup configurations and policies.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards for backup and compliance.
• Ability to optimize backup solutions for performance and resource utilization.
